Biographies of the Mayor and Council

Councilman Keith Kazmark

Councilman Keith KazmarkKeith Kazmark has served on the Council for seven years and is a member of the Van Winkle family that has resided in West Paterson for over 55 years. Keith was appointed in 2007 as the Municipal Clerk in the Borough of Elmwood Park.

Keith is a graduate of Passaic Valley and Syracuse University where he received a BFA in Art Education. Keith also completed a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from New York Institute of Technology. Keith remians a certified teacher in New Jersey and New York and is a member of the United Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO.

Councilman Kazmark currently serves as Chairman of the Recreation and Community Relations Committee. He is a former Summer Camp Director, a past member of the Municipal Alliance, and current member of the West Paterson Boys and Girls Club.

Outside of government Keith acts as the director of the West Paterson Holiday Toy Drive, as the coordinator for the Harold “Hatch” Van Winkle Scholarship Fund and is a founding member of the Passaic Valley High School Education Foundation.

Keith is married to Lauren (Levine), a former teacher at Beatrice Gilmore School and he is a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, Little Falls.
