Biographies of the Mayor and Council

Councilwoman Rita Pascrell

Councilwoman Rita PascrellRita Pascrell is serving her seventh year on the West Paterson Council and was selected this year to serve as Council President. Rita is a former Administrative Assistant with Nordic American Bank in New York City. She grew up in Paterson and is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and attended the Garden State Business School.

Councilwoman Pascrell is the Chairwoman of the Administration and Finance Committee and acts as the Commissioner to the First Aid Squad. Rita has worked with the First Aid Squad to increase funding to the First Aid Squad. A former member of the Beatrice Gilmore and Memorial Home & School Associations, Rita has organized our Memorial Day Parade and served on the Municipal Alliance.

Rita is employed as the office manager for the Passaic County Democratic Committee.

Rita is a 23 year resident of West Paterson with her husband, Ronald and two children, Joseph, who attends Pace University, and Stephanie, who attends Passaic Valley. She is a parishioner of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, Pompton Lakes.
